LTL-M measures all types of road markings at a simulated distance of 30m with the highest level of accuracy. LTL-M is mounted on a vehicle measuring retroreflection at traffic speed, providing a full overview of the condition of the pavement markings.
The instrument operates with an accuracy of typically +/-5% and a repeatability of typically of +/-3%, which is in line with DELTA’s hand-held retroreflectometers LTL-2000, LTL-X, LTL-X Mark II and LTL-XL.
LTL-M is a robust, reliable and advanced instrument designed for professionals, using modern digital camera and illumination technology to provide measurement data in real-time down to every single meter of measurement if required.
This technology results in high-measurement accuracy independent of changes in the geometry of the system caused by vehicle movement. The technology is patented by DELTA.
The LTL-M system consists of three parts:
- The sensor unit mounted on the outside of the vehicle, which contains a camera and flash system
- The real-time processor placed inside the vehicle for data processing and storage
- The graphical user interface (GUI) tablet PC assisting the driver in control of the measurements
LTL-M measures nighttime visibility under dry conditions, daylight contrast, records line width and working road studs (RRPMs). LTL-M measures white and yellow markings up to 25mm / 1in in profile depth. Calibration and change of light source can be done with a simple operation in the field.
Data processing and presentation is carried out using existing software formats, such as Excel and Google Earth.
LTL-M can be offered with an overhead camera with data overlay for later measurement review and a distance measurement instrument for exact distance tracking, where GPS contact is not available.
