The UK’s Highways Agency has awarded a contract to BAE Systems Applied Intelligence to deliver service integration and application management (SIAM) services across its nationwide IT infrastructure.

The contract is worth nearly £7.5m over a three year period and will see BAE Systems Applied Intelligence deliver end-to-end services that are in line with the agency’s information and communications technology (ICT) strategy.

The project covers a network of more than 3,840 end users in the UK across seven main offices, seven regional control centres (RCCs) and approximately 30 other locations.

BAE aims to help the agency to improve efficiency and maintain continuity across the ICT estate, while facilitating the delivery of core functions and reducing IT costs.

The announcement comes as the Highways Agency moves from a single IT supplier approach to a multi-sourced tower model.

The Highways Agency’s SIAM services are due to go live later this year.
