Budimex

Ferrovial Group’s Polish construction subsidiary Budimex has entered into a road development contract with the Roads Authority of Poland’s Lublin region.

The contract is worth PLN44.1m ($14.2m), and will see Budimex upgrade 10km of highway 747, between Konopnica and Kamien.

It involves resurfacing works on both lanes, construction of new pavements as well as addition of bicycle lanes.

The project also includes the construction of 12 bus stops and drainage ditches, and is expected to be concluded by December.

Other works included in the contract are upgrading of junctions with municipal roads and other accesses.

The Ferrovial subsidiary was awarded a contract earlier this month to complete construction of the Bojanowo-Rawicz bypass on Expressway S5 in Poland, between the cities of Poznan and Wroclaw.

This contract includes building of 29.3km of new road, as well as earth movement on the main route, side roads and frontage roads, in addition to strengthening embankments, and laying the road foundation and surface among other works.
