ADEC Technologies is proud to introduce the five-channel PIR traffic detector TDC1-PIR for monitoring one lane of traffic.
Developed after the TDC3, the TDC1-PIR employs five IR sensing zones that work like a break-beam system: As vehicles travel through the detection zones, each vehicle’s traffic data is measured: the speed, length, time-gap and occupancy-time (the time the vehicle occupies a virtual, infinitely small zone under the detector). The detector uses serial interface to provide each vehicle’s traffic data to the data collector (TLS-primary). A transistor open collector output is also available but generally not routed to the cable leads.
The TDC1-PIR is specifically designed to be operated by solar-powered traffic data collectors thanks to its extremely low power consumption of just 60MW. This enables operation of up to three TDC1-PIR on a single BS2-TS, our solar-powered IoT gateway. But there are also third-party integrations, such as those by Siemens (Traffic Eye Universal) or Swarco (iTravel).
Of course, use is not limited to solar-powered hosts. The TDC1-PIR can be used, and easily integrates, thanks to the TLS-compatible protocol (read more), to most outstations for traffic data acquisition (urban, inter-urban and tunnels), and queue-detection.You will find numerous trade-journal editorials on our news section discussing the merits of the TDC1-PIR. The functions and features of our TDC1-PIR with BS2-TS makes it a great solution for traffic data acquisition for both traffic management and collecting data for traffic modeling.
