ADEC Technologies’ TDC3 non-intrusive traffic detectors with TLS 8+1 vehicle classification are being installed on the E661 highway from Gradiška to Banja Luka in Bosnia-Herzegovina. The detectors are part of the ITS system, which monitors and controls the traffic on the mentioned highway. Specifically, detectors are used for collecting statistical traffic data, such as the number and classification of vehicles and level of service.
Siemens Mobility project manager Milan Radivojevic explains: “We’ve had very good experience with the ADEC TDC3 traffic detectors, as did my colleagues in Germany and elsewhere. The detectors integrate smoothly to our traffic data collection equipment, the commissioning is straightforward and simple. The present project involves 18 gantries with between two and four detectors at each site. The traffic data is collected and processed in the conduct and traffic management system, which in turn controls the variable message signs. In addition, the data is used for the historical reports which further helps the roads authority to evaluate the traffic situation.”
Andreas Hartmann, Managing Director at ADEC Technologies adds: “In this project, the traffic data from the TDC3 detectors is used both for statistical as well as operational purposes. We are very pleased to see that Siemens outside of Germany is also increasingly taking advantage – as do its customers – of our detector’s accuracy and reliability. We are proud to count Siemens to our customers from the day we founded ADEC Technologies over ten years ago.”
