An exclusive three-year framework contract for the supply of traffic counters has been recently awarded to one of the UK’s leading suppliers of traffic data monitoring equipment, CA Traffic.
The contract, awarded by Leeds City Council, will include the supply and maintenance of pneumatic tube counters and speed length classifiers, two of CA’s leading traffic monitoring products.
It is anticipated the framework contract will support the long-term monitoring programme for Leeds and will enable accurate collection of data on vehicle flows, speeds and classification.
CA’s pneumatic tube counter, the Minuteman EVR, has been successfully used for vehicle counts and classification for a number of years and is one of the most reliable classifier products on the market. Every part of the EVR has been designed for reliability and accuracy on the heavily congested UK road network. Incorporating extremely responsive air switches to high resolution event time stamping, the EVR is optimized for maximum performance and use in locations well beyond the ability of other tube recorders.
In line with vehicle classification, the company’s speed length classifier (SLC) using inductive loop technology can accurately record vehicle volumes, speed and lengths as well as containing up to four twin-detector cards, enough for monitoring four lanes of traffic. The units to be supplied to Leeds City Council also include an integrated GSM modem for the remote download of data, which cuts the need for costly and site visits, providing considerable health and safety benefits.
CA Traffic prides itself on providing reliable, easy to use, quality products fulfilling all traffic monitoring and classification needs.
