- Almost 400 units worldwide
- Up to ten days of autonomous speed measurement
Approximately four years ago, VITRONIC’s Enforcement Trailer stepped onto the stage as a flexible and efficient solution for semi-stationary speed measurement. Since then, almost 400 units have been commissioned in France, Germany, the Middle East and Australia—and the number continues to rise. France alone has 300 units, dominating this market. The Enforcement Trailer is used for traffic enforcement and places zero demands on the local infrastructure. The system, which was developed together with VITRONIC’s partner company CEGELEC Equipement Dynamiques Routiers, has an independent power supply and can be transported by almost any vehicle with a trailer hitch. Measurements are captured using Poliscan Speed LIDAR technology, making it possible to enforce the speed of all vehicles in all lanes at the same time. Furthermore, various speed limits and passage prohibitions can be enforced at certain times for specific lanes and vehicle classes. An integrated modem transfers case data wirelessly via GSM and enables remote access to the measuring system.
VITRONIC’s Enforcement Trailer closes the gap
Accident hotspots often occur in locations where continuous speed enforcement is not an option. Highways and roadway work zones do not have the necessary power and data connections to make this possible. And mobile enforcement systems do not have a sufficiently long life and cannot be used unprotected for long periods. With its Enforcement Trailer, VITRONIC offers a new solution for traffic monitoring that makes zero demands on the local infrastructure.
That is why it is used at many social institutions such as schools and daycare centers and in other accident black spots. The trailer is also an ideal solution because it is so flexible. Easy to transport and quick to commission, it’s a flexible solution for rural areas as well. High-performance batteries, which can be replaced on site, ensure continuous use for up to ten days without the need for a technician while in use.
Even potentially hazardous sections of the interstate can be monitored for speed violations. Locations like these are often dangerous for enforcement officers, making measurement with mobile systems rarely possible. VITRONIC’s Enforcement Trailer is the best solution for these situations because it can be operated autonomously.
