Delta will be attending the 25th Traffex at the NEC, Birmingham with its range of retroreflectometer instruments.
Delta has been the global leading supplier of retroreflectometers for pavement markings and traffic signs for the last four decades. Delta’s LTL and retrosign brands are known for high quality and reliability and are the choice of professionals.
The measurements of retroreflection have until now mostly been done with handheld instruments like the LTL-XL produced by Delta. These instruments are accurate and easy to use for making a limited number of measurements but they are not optimal for monitoring long distances like motorways. The retroreflection can vary much even on short distances and in curves where visibility is important. The road also has to be partly closed during measurements to ensure road worker safety.
Delta will launch LTL-M mobile retroreflectometer for pavement markings at Traffex 2011. LTL-M represents a new generation of mobile retroreflectometers measuring as precise as a handheld instrument and it is as easy to operate. LTL-M is easy to integrate on both existing road monitoring vehicles in order to monitor several types of road parameters at the same time as well as use the system on standard vehicles without any modifications.
The LTL-M technology is based on a high speed pulsating light source, fast digital camera technology and digital image processing. The patent pending technology has in several tests shown to fulfill the requirement of measurement accuracy in line with handheld instruments.
