Earlier this year DELTA launched the LTL-M mobile retroreflectometer for measuring retroreflection of road markings. Based on DELTA’s patent pending digital geometry correction system, LTL-M is the first mobile retroreflectometer offering the same accuracy as known from handheld instruments.
LTL-M has had a good start with a number of instruments already delivered to customers on four continents. This success has strengthened DELTA’s position as the globally leading supplier of retroreflectometers for road markings and road signs.
This autumn DELTA has launched two new important features for the LTL-M system: Overhead camera and Distance Measurement Instrument (DMI), to further accommodate customer requirements.
The overhead camera is placed in the vehicle windscreen providing a complete HD video of the markings and the road as seen by the driver. The video is stored for later review and will be displayed with an overlay of the actual measurement data. The video is synchronised with the measurement data.
The DMI is mounted on one of the vehicle wheels and will provide accurate distance measurement also on road stretches where the GPS may fail due to lack of satellite contact.
Even with the new features added the LTL-M system continues to be very easy to mount, calibrate and operate and does provide data with an accuracy in line with handheld instruments under all driving conditions.
