In 2011, DELTA launched the LTL-M mobile retroreflectometer for measuring retroreflection of road markings.
LTL-M is based on digital image processing technology. LTL-M provides measurement accuracy in line with handheld instrument under all driving conditions and is very easy to mount, calibrate and operate; LTL-M has been developed with the user in mind.
The LTL-M base system can be delivered with overhead video camera for visual review of the measured markings and Distance Measurement Instrument (DMI) for accurate distance measurement where the GPS signal may be weak or is lost.
Since the launch of the LTL-M system, DELTA has continued developing additional features like multiple languages menu, presentation of measurement data on map, easy connection of overhead camera and DMI, improved performance of GPS and WiFi units, solid state hard disk, additional mark-log buttons for simultaneous logging, warning lights on the sensor box and remote service access.
LTL-M has proven high accuracy in impartial tests in Europe and has been certified by the German StrausZert institute. During 2011, LTL-M has been tested and used for commercial measurements on four continents.
