Saskatoon, SK – International Road Dynamics (IRD) announced today that its wholly owned subsidiary IRDSA (South Asia) has been awarded two contracts in India with a total value of around CDN$820,000.
The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has awarded IRDSA with two separate contracts. The first is for the supply and installation of automatic vehicle classification (AVC) equipment and electronics for a total of 46 toll lanes in India.
The second award by NHAI is for the supply, installation, commissioning, operation and maintenance of high speed weigh-in-motion (WIM) systems at five toll plazas in different locations in India.
These awards are the first by NHAI on toll and WIM systems. Over the past five years, there were various technologies proposed and NHAI has now made its decision on choosing IRD’s technology as the standard moving forward. IRD’s technology and electronics has far surpassed its competitors’ offerings, both technically and commercially.
Mr Terry Bergan, IRD’s president and chief executive officer, commented, “We are very pleased with these recent awards by NHAI. These awards demonstrate IRDSA’s strong market position in both the toll and WIM markets in India as well as NHAI’s confidence in the cutting-edge technology that we offer globally in these markets.”
