International Road Dynamics (IRD) announced today that, through its wholly-owned subsidiary in Santiago, Chile, it has been awarded a contract to supply and install sixty Tire Deflator Devices, specialized barriers and other related products and services at specific border crossings in Mexico. The contract is valued at approximately US$3.7 Million.
The Tire Deflator Devices and related equipment prevent the passage of unauthorized vehicles. When triggered by a border guard, they are exposed in the pavement to puncture the vehicle’s tires. These proprietary products were acquired by IRD with the purchase of PAT Chile in 2005.
Mr Terry Bergan, IRD’s President and CEO, commented: “With the award of this new contract, our Chilean subsidiary is off to a solid start in 2008. With their strong presence throughout Central and South America, we expect to generate a growing base of business as we capitalize on the increased investment in infrastructure and sophisticated Intelligent Transportation Systems in the region.”
IRD is a highway traffic management technology company specializing in supplying products and systems to the global Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) industry. IRD is a North American company based in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan Canada with sales and service offices throughout the United States and overseas.
Private corporations, transportation agencies and highway authorities around the world use IRD’s products and advanced systems to manage and protect their highway infrastructures.
