AgileAssets, a US-based infrastructure asset management company, has secured a contract from the Alaska Department of Transportation & Public Facilities (Alaska DOT&PF) to manage roads, bridges and to maintain transportation assets valued at over $6.3bn.

As per the agreement, AgileAssets will be replacing Alaska DOT&PF legacy systems with its integrated enterprise solution that enhances staff efficiency by integrating data across the department and also reducing maintenance costs.

Alaska DOT&PF commissioner Marc Luiken said: “Implementing new efficiencies to improve transportation across Alaska is an endless goal at the Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities.

“Improving the department’s capability to manage its assets is one example of how we can control costs and deliver better service to Alaskans.”

Under the deal, Alaska DOT&PF will obtain licensed versions of AgileAssets Maintenance Manager, Pavement Analyst, Fleet, Equipment Manager, and Foundation.

AgileAssets founder and CEO Stuart Hudson said: “Alaska DOT&PF and its staff have a tremendous responsibility to the people of Alaska to ensure a safe and efficient statewide transportation network that supports the state’s economy and provides access to explore and develop its vast resources.

"Improving the department’s capability to manage its assets is one example of how we can control costs and deliver better service to Alaskans."

“Through AgileAssets’ software, Alaska DOT&PF will be able to maximise the value and safety of their public infrastructure, while making the most of the limited resources available to the department.”

AgileAssets' Maintenance Manager allows decision makers to analyse the effects of various annual maintenance plans and budget scenarios;  Pavement Analyst enables pavement engineers to analyse and make data-driven decisions regarding the lifecycle planning of large road networks.

The AgileAssets Fleet and Equipment Manager helps agencies keep track, summarise, report and optimise all activities required throughout the life cycle of cars, trucks and heavy machinery, while Foundation offers base system-wide functionality including GIS / LRS, reporting, security and system administration.
