Portugal-based motorway management company Brisa has installed a 40m² Panasonic video wall into its operational control centre to make motorways safer.

With the help of the video wall, the centre will be able to monitor approximately 1,100km of motorway.

Brisa manages mobility across 11 motorways, as well as handles the construction and operation of tolled motorways through its subsidiaries and direct investments in Portugal.

Brisa project manager Pedro Sobral said: "We had a lot of problems with our previous video wall. However, the new Panasonic displays look more modern and are more efficient, which maximises the availability of the tools within Brisa’s operational control centre."

"The new monitoring system means Brisa benefits from exceptional image quality and reduced maintenance costs for its video wall."

Designed to work 24 hours a day, the displays are equipped with anti-glare surfaces and an ultra-thin 5.3mm bezel. They were integrated by security providers Prosonic and are specially designed for the control room market.

The advantage of the ultra-thin bezel is that it allows Brisa the option of displaying a single image across numerous screens with no discontinuity in the image.

Prosonic’s integrated solutions division member João Farinha said: "The new monitoring system means Brisa benefits from exceptional image quality and reduced maintenance costs for its video wall."

Founded in 1918, Panasonic works in the development and engineering of electronic technologies and solutions for customers in residential, non-residential, mobility and personal applications.
