Access roads to DPR

China State Construction Engineering (CSCEC) Middle East has secured an AED244m ($67m) contract from Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) to build access roads to the Dubai Parks and Resorts (DPR) site from Sheikh Zayed Road.

The 14-month contract will include construction of two-direction ramps to provide access to DPR’s site from the adjacent road network, and grade intersections located on the link between E311 and E11, and other signal on the frontage road.

CSCME’s civil and infrastructure (C&I) division will be responsible for carrying out the project.

Work under the project will also include construction of roadway signages and pavement marking, street lighting, landscaping, irrigation ducts, storm drainage, diversion and protection of services systems.

The $2.7bn DPR project will include three theme parks, namely Motiongate Dubai, Legoland Dubai and Bollywood Parks.

Scheduled to be opened in October 2016, DPR is located on Sheikh Zayed Road, close to Palm Jebel Ali between Dubai and Abu Dhabi.

CSCEC Middle East is already carrying out phase two of the Dubai Water Canal Project for the RTA under an AED384m ($104m) contract.

Work under this contract includes construction of new bridges across Al Wasl Road and Jumeirah Road to allow yachts to pass underneath.
