Munich-based Cleverciti Systems will roll out its smart parking system in several European cities later this year, after launching it initially at Bad Hersfeld in Germany.

The company had installed six sensors, enabling the authorities of Bad Hersfeld to monitor illegal parking.

Cleverciti has installed sensors in Rotterdam, and will now install the sensors at Hague and Helmond in the Netherlands; and Cologne and Munich in Germany, as well as several other cities.

"Its smart parking system, which comprises of three sensors and an app, can scan the availability of parking spaces in real time."

It will also install sensors at corporate parking spaces and shopping malls, reported Traffictechnology.com.

Its smart parking system, which comprises of three sensors and an app, can scan the availability of parking spaces in real time.

The sensors can analyse, identify and determine the size of parking spaces.

The long range parking sensors can be installed on walls or lampposts. These sensors can also scan 100 spaces with just a unit and monitor at 360 degrees.

Through the Cleverciti smartphone application, the sensors help drivers look for a personalised parking space.

Mobile and navigation devices and local parking guidance systems receive GPS coordinates of every free or occupied parking space from the sensors in real time.

The sensors also help cities and parking operators secure data on availability of parking spaces, payments, and usage of parking spaces, etc.
