Californian-based city Fremont has chosen Trafficware’s central traffic management technology ATMS.now, as well as SynchroGreen adaptive signal technology, which will be deployed on a 2.2-mile road stretch of Fremont Boulevard.

These technologies were chosen following a competitive bidding process.

Trafficware’s sole distributor for northern California Western Pacific Signal (WPS) led the team during the process.

The new technology will be deployed in the first quarter of 2017.

"Trafficware has become the partner of choice for technology-savvy customers such as the City of Fremont and the natural choice for agencies looking to move to a more modern platform."

Trafficware CEO Jon Newhard said: "We are pleased to welcome Fremont into the Trafficware customer family.

Fremont Boulevard Corridor is a major arterial in the city that witnesses peak traffic during morning and evening hours.

Deployment of smart signal technology that responds to real-time conditions will ease congestion and manage queues caused by traffic volume in the corridor.

Fremont has become the latest city to deploy Trafficware technology. The other areas that have deployed Trafficware technology include Palo Alto, Santa Clara City & County, Oakland, Walnut Creek, Fairfield, Napa, Brentwood, Pittsburg, Concord, Dublin, Pleasanton, Livermore, San Leandro, Hayward, Foster City, Milpitas, Cupertino, Campbell, and Alameda County.
