UK-based multinational automotive company Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) has launched a new technology business, InMotion.

JLR’s InMotion helps build new apps and on-demand services with an aim to address present day travel and transport challenges.

In May this year, the new technology business will commence its real-world trials of a wide range of services that include car ownership solutions, as well as car sharing.

The tests will be conducted over the coming months across Asia, North America and Europe.

Jaguar Land Rover stated that technological growth has changed the face of both travel and transport, making them much more simple and more convenient for users.

The InMotion business will help combine the best features of both the automotive and technology sectors in order to create new solutions that can be easily accessed through smartphones or other connected devices.

Jaguar Land Rover group strategy director Adrian Hallmark said: "With the development of new apps and on-demand services, InMotion provides us with an opportunity to provide engaging and invaluable experiences to both new and existing customers globally.

InMotion, which is based in London, is a wholly-owned subsidiary of JLR.

The company intends to employ 30 people who will help entrepreneurs build new businesses.

JLR’s InMotion will not only create new technology ventures to assist people to access travel and transport facilities through connected devices, but will also build new digital businesses.
