Jenoptik Traffic Solutions division and its local partner, First Joint Group, have secured a contract to upgrade traffic enforcement infrastructure across Kuwait.

The order was placed by the Kuwait Ministry of Interior, and includes delivery of speed and red-light monitoring systems, and is worth more than €2m.

Jenoptik will supply stationary and mobile radar systems for speed monitoring and red-light monitoring systems that are equipped with advanced digital camera and tracking radar technology.

These systems will be delievered in the first quarter of 2014.

Jenoptik president and CEO Michael Mertin said: "We are pleased with the new order from Kuwait. It shows us that the customer is satisfied with our products and services and that they are looking to continue our successful cooperation."

Jenoptik Traffic Solutions division develops, manufactures and markets parts and systems that increase road traffic safety across the world.

Based on robot technology, the product portfolio includes comprehensive systems for all aspects of road traffic, such as speed and red-light monitoring systems as well as original equipment manufacturer (OEM) products and systems in order to detect traffic violations.

Its speed and red light enforcement range includes fixed speed enforcement, mobile speed enforcement, speed displays, TraffiStar SR520 and TraffiStar SR590.
