The Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (LACMTA) in the US has appointed CH2M, a global engineering and management company, to provide Highway Programme Project Delivery Support Services for improving transportation infrastructure in the region.

CH2M will assist LACMTA to address region's transportation challenges through on-call task orders, which includes development of design plans, specifications, studies, reports and other technical documents.

It will also provide an independent review and oversight of environmental design, including traffic, structures, and drainage contract plans.

Under the deal, CH2M will also be engaged in development and management of databases for schedule, cost and quality control, and management studies and plans.

CH2M Highways and Bridges director Bryan Nicol said: "It is an honour to continue to work alongside Metro on many of its key transportation improvement initiatives in Los Angeles County.

Additionally, CH2M will also provide its expertise in highway funding, emerging technologies, and sustainable design to advance LACMTA's highway capital project planning and development process.

Recently, LACMTA has also approved Los Angeles County Traffic Improvement Plan, ‘Measure M’, which will guide many of the projects included under the contract.
