Speed and red light enforcement systems company Vitronic has announced a partnership that will allow customers of traffic enforcement service provider Vetro Verkehrselektronik to buy Vitronic PoliScan systems.

Agreed at the Intertraffic 2014 conference in Amsterdam, the partnership will also offer vehicles, expert staff and training and evaluation services. According to Vitronic, it will create a portfolio of traffic safety solutions with LIDAR-based technology.

Vitronic sole shareholder and CEO Norbert Stein said: "By combining our strengths, we can offer attractive solution bundles to a larger customer base in Germany and soon internationally."

Vetro Verkehrselektronik has been delivering technical services for community traffic monitoring since 1992, with its core business focusing on mobile and stationary traffic monitoring, including measurement and data processing for official administrative offense proceedings.

Vitronic supplies national agencies and private service providers with a variety of traffic monitoring systems such as speed enforcement, red light enforcement and license plate reading. The company was recently awarded a contract by the Queensland Police Service in Australia to supply mobile speed enforcement systems for better traffic management.
