The Grinder Hog from Hog Technologies is a truck designed to grind pavement markings, groove pavement for inlaid markings and cut rumble strips, including sinusoidal wave and plunge cuts. The Grinder Hog accomplishes this inside the cab of the truck using Computer Controlled Profiling (CCP) and smart cylinders, which allow for computer-controlled precision depth control.
The Grinder Hog comes standard with one grinding head on each side of the truck. An additional one to two grinding heads can be added, bringing the total up to four. Each grinding head can be extended outward from the chassis up to a length of 36in. Each head can be positioned at different lengths in order to control the width of your grinding path. Grinding heads on each side of the truck can be operated independently using the master/follower function for simultaneous shoulder and centerline work.
The grinder heads utilise 1in PCD teeth and are available in a variety of types, including full round, double round and full flat. With the Low-Speed Control, the Grinder Hog can grind at speeds up to 6MPH (9.65KPH) without having to check between the crosshairs and the speedometer, greatly reducing the margin for error.
The Grinder Hog also uses Sonic Vibration Technology that contains over 500ft² of filtration with auto-reverse air pulsing. These are short pulses that provide cleaning of the filters while grinding along with long pulses that help restore airflow.
In addition, the Grinder Hog also uses simultaneous vacuum recovery, which utilises one, two, or three 8in 2,200Cfm Roots blowers, double-filtration and an ultra-quiet Hog Silencer to collect debris at the same time as grinding. The debris is then stored in a debris tank that can vary between five to eight cubic yards depending on the model of the truck. This debris tank can then be lifted 12ft into the air and dumped at a 47° angle for easy and safe depositing of debris material.
All of our vehicles come with a training programme called Hog Tech University. Hog Technologies is the only manufacturer of equipment that requires a license to operate. This is because Hog Technologies believes that a well-trained operator will have a much higher success rate with a job than someone who is untrained or unqualified to run or operate the equipment. The leading cause of damaged surfaces is the results of untrained people operating the vehicle.
The goal at Hog Technologies is to maximise productivity, minimise costs and optimise results. Hog Technologies remains committed to being your total pavement solution.
