The Rumble Hog from Hog Technologies is a three-in-one truck designed to grind pavement markings, groove pavement for inlaid markings and cut rumble strips, including sinusoidal wave and plunge cuts. The Rumble Hog accomplishes this using a central, rear-mounted cutting drum that can move from side to side for shoulder or centerline work.
The cutter drum utilises 1in diamond-tipped teeth for longer durability. The teeth can be placed in a variety of places on the drum for different cutting profiles.
The Rumble Hog can grind pavement and cut rumble strips up to a speed of 5MPH (8KPM) while it can groove pavement at speeds up to 3.5MPH (5.6KPM). An in-cab PLC control gives the operator the ability to program the cutting patterns easily. The cutter drum can also have its position adjusted from inside the cab as well using a simple joystick control.
The Rumble Hog has a couple of options when it comes to debris. The Rumble Hog can utilise a scissor lift high dumb debris tank that can lift up 12ft into the air and tilt at a 47° angle for easy and safe dumping of debris. It can also use an offloading auger to simultaneously dump debris along the side of the road as the work is being performed. The offloading auger is only an option for grinding and grooving functions.
In addition, the Rumble Hog also has the option for simultaneous vacuum recovery which collects debris at the same time as grinding or grooving. Without the vacuum recovery, a secondary vehicle such as the Hog Broom can be used to follow the Rumble Hog and collect/clean debris leftover from the job as it is being performed.
All of our vehicles come with a training program called Hog Tech University. Hog Technologies is the only manufacturer of equipment that requires a license to operate. This is because Hog Technologies believes that a well-trained operator will have a much higher success rate with a job than someone who is untrained or unqualified to run or operate the equipment. The leading cause of damaged surfaces is the results of untrained people operating the vehicle.
