Italy is planning road development projects worth about €9.6bn ($11.9bn).

The Interdepartmental Committee for Economic Planning (CIPE) has approved €479m ($594m) for building a new road connecting the Port of Ancona to the national highway network.

CIPE has also sanctioned €107m ($132m) worth of additional funds for the Salerno-Reggio Calabria highway, according to worldhighways.com.

Private investments of over €9bn ($11bn) are expected to finance the extension and improvement of the Cecina-Civitavecchia highway.

CIPE is also considering a new Campogalliano-Sassuolo highway connection.
